Status Update #4
It has been a while since I posted an update!
I have been a bit preoccupied the last nine months. I got pregnant, had terrible morning sickness for a couple of months, packed up our house and moved from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin, and finally gave birth to my daughter a couple weeks ago.
Needless to say, spacedust development has been a lot slower than I anticipated! But now that life has settled down that won’t be the case going forward. I’m excited to pick up the pace again.
As stated in my last post, I was planning on updating my game framework to utilize OpenGL 2.0. Well, after a lot of hard work, it went surprisingly well and everything basically worked. I will be posting about that soon.
Next on my list is cleaning up the UI code and the way the game handles views / screens. This will help keep the code well organized and better optimized. A bit boring, but necessary.
Then on to the fun part. Reworking and enhancing planet generation with the intention of generating and simulating plants. That will be interesting!
