Hello World!
Playing computer games and programming have been two of my favorite activities since I was a kid. I didn’t even know what a function or array was before I was making stupid little 2D space shooter games in Visual Basic. (Yes, the code was terrible.)
Over the years I was introduced to subjects like procedural generation, simulation, and artificial intelligence. And the more I learned, the more I wanted to write my own game. I have played many excellent games in the past, but inevitably I would get distracted by aspects I felt were missing and wished I could add.
The more my own ideas solidified and the more I imagined my own game, the more I wanted to write it. And even if nobody else ended up playing it, working on it would be an interesting project.
So, here I go. I am going to write game.
I have made progress over the past two years testing out ideas and learning how to use various tools I would need. But I am finally ready to start sharing what I have been working on and what I have learned along the way. Sometime during the next several weeks, I hope to release the very first early version of my game.
I am excited to finally share what I have been up to.
